Coffee talk with Mattea

Standard

It’s 8:55 a.m. The older littles are sleeping, and Mattea and I are having coffee (hers is mostly milk, but it’s a daily ritual around here.)

This morning, while we were sharing our warm cuppa, we had this discussion. (you’ll figure out which one is Mattea)

“What’choo doin?”

“Painting Elijah’s costume for Halloween”

“Why?”

“Because he asked me to”

“Why?”

“He wants his costume to be different than it is right now.”

“Why?”

“So it will look like Beedrill (a pokemon)”

“Why?”

“That’s what he’s being for Halloween”

“Why?”

“That’s what he wants to be”

“Why?”

“He just does.”

“Me gonna look like a pwin-chess”

“Okay. Please don’t touch the paint Mattea.”

“Why?”

“It’s wet and will get on your clothes.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s wet. It will wreck your clothes.”

“Why?”

“Because it’s paint.”

“Why?”

“Mattea! Please stop saying why.”

“Why?”

“Because you’re annoying me.”

“You’re mean.”

“I’m sorry. You’re right, that was mean.”

“Why?”

  1. Good thing I didn’t have coffee in my mouth as I read this or it would’ve been sprayed all over my laptop. So funny. What a gorgeous photo too!
